Bangladesh in the semi-finals with 24 goals in three matches. Bangladesh under-21 hockey team is running in Oman. Bangladesh defeated Uzbekistan 6-1 in the final group match of Junior AHF Cup Hockey at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat. Bangladesh reached the semi-finals by becoming the group champion with three consecutive wins. Rakibul Hasan will play against Thailand or Chinese Taipei in the semi-final on January 11. Bangladesh confirmed to play in the Junior Asia Cup by reaching the last four.

Man of the match Amirul Islam scored a hat trick against Sri Lanka today. Obaidul Joy scored two goals. Rakibul Hasan scored 1 goal. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka 14-0 in the previous match. Hong Kong was beaten 4-0 in the first match. In total, Bangladesh scored 24 goals in the three matches of the group, conceding only 1.

Today, however, neither team could score in the first quarter. Abdus Salam Madamainov scored from a penalty corner in the 18th minute of the second quarter to lead Uzbekistan. After scoring the goal, the youth of Bangladesh became desperate. Then Amirul Islam scored two goals from the penalty corner in the 25th and 27th minutes of the match. Bangladesh went into the break leading 2-1.

Then Bangladesh secured the win by scoring two more goals in the third quarter. Rakibul Hasan scored the winning goal in the 33rd minute and Joy in the 39th minute of the match. Both goals were from the field.

Bangladesh scored another goal in the fourth quarter. Joy scored his second goal and the team’s fifth in the 51st minute. Bangladesh left the field with a 6-1 victory when Amirul completed his hat-trick from a penalty corner in the 54th minute.
