According to GRP, this twenty-year-old hockey player committed suicide by jumping in front of the Chandigarh-Jaipur Intercity Express. Rewari GRP officer Ranveer Singh told the media that the driver of the train reported that a girl suddenly came in front of the train while passing over the Jhajjar road crossing at around 8:30 pm. Even though the driver applied the brakes, the train hit the girl before it stopped. After receiving the information, the railway police went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was found to be Jyoti Gupta, the forward of the national hockey team.
