Hockey Bengal Secretary Istyak Ali said, “A state championship will be held in East India with hockey teams from different districts of the state. The competition will start from December 16 with men in three categories. A training camp will also be conducted here for girls as well.”
The minister said that Hockey Bengal expressed interest in competing in villages. After learning about it a year ago, he contacted the president of the organization, Swapan Banerjee. He said that he wants to hold a big hockey competition in his constituency.
