Bangladesh And India will host 2031 ODI World Cup

Bangladesh will jointly host the 2031 ODI World Cup with India. The ICC has announced the names of the hosts of the 2024 to 2031 World Boys Tournament. Bangladesh will be the host of this tournament in this cycle.

In all, there will be eight global tournaments at this time, hosted by 14 countries. Of the 14 countries, 11 are full members and the remaining three are allies. For the first time, the United States and Namibia will host the ICC World Tournament. Afghanistan is not the only full member to host a World Cup. In this cycle from 2024 to 2031, there will be two ODI World Cups, four T20 World Cups and two Champions Trophies.

A subcommittee led by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Cricket West Indies President Ricky Skerit, led by Martin Schneiden, has been selected by the host nations through a competitive selection process. The decision was taken after scrutinizing the countries interested in managing the ICC.

The last World Cup in this cycle is the 2031 World Cup jointly organized by India and Bangladesh. The last World Cup was held in 2011 in the subcontinent. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were also with Seba India. Then in 2014, Bangladesh single-handedly hosted the T20 World Cup.

India will be the only host in the cycle to host all three World Tournaments – the T20 World Cup and the ODI World Cup – jointly hosting a Champions Trophy.

The T20 World Cup will be held every two years from 2024 to 2030. The tournament, which started in 2006, has always had a single host (the 2021 T20 World Cup was in Oman and the UAE, but India was the main host).

However, in the next cycle, each event will be jointly organized. The West Indies and the United States are the hosts of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Earlier, the West Indies hosted the T20 World Cup in 2010. The Twenty20 World Cup will be in India and Sri Lanka in 2026, and in Australia and New Zealand in 2026. In 2030 it will be in England, Ireland, and Scotland.

There will be two Champions Trophies in this cycle – the 2025 event will be held in Pakistan, four years later another event will be held in India. This is the first ICC World Tournament since the 1998 World Cup in Pakistan.
