Hockey India’s election was scheduled to be held on October 1. But the result has already been announced. Because there is no fight for any position. Former player Dilip Tirke won without a fight.

This time a former player is going to be seen in the highest responsibility of hockey. Former captain Dilip Tirke has been elected as the president of Hockey India. He won the election unopposed on Friday.

Hockey India’s election was scheduled to be held on October 1. But the result has already been announced. Because there is no fight for any position. Every candidate won by a landslide. Fighting against Dileep were Uttar Pradesh Hockey Association chief Rakesh Katyal and Jharkhand Hockey Association chief Bhola Nath Singh. Both withdrew their nominations on Friday, clearing the way for Dileep to win.

Bhola Nath was elected unopposed as Secretary General, though not the President. The International Hockey Federation also recognized Dileep’s win. In a statement, they said, if the number of posts and number of candidates are equal or if the number of candidates is less than the post, there is no bar to declare all the candidates unopposed as a result.

Hockey India selection has been going on for a long time. The International Hockey Federation threatened expulsion. As a result, doubts arose about the next year’s World Cup. But there is no more problem as the election is over.
