The film grossed Rs 16 crore in Telugu in four days. In Telugu, the film may surpass the record of ‘KGF: Chapter One’. KGF: Chapter One grossed Rs 24 crore in Telugu.

Kannada star Rishabh Shetty is the screenwriter, director and actor of Kantara. Kishore, Achyuta Kumar, Saptami Gowda, Pramod Shetty and others also acted in this film. The word ‘Kantara’ means deep forest. The story of the film revolves around the deity of the local villagers ‘Bhuta’. The director has shown that in the film for three different periods.
